Star Property for Exclusive Celebrity Tastes in Marbella
Last week we took a trip down memory lane to recall the 1989 Costa del Sol visits of two international celebrities who had sadly just passed away, George Michael and Carrie Fisher. A third major figure with even closer links to the Coast also left us just before Christmas. Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt, who suffered a heart attack last summer and later said he would no longer be performing with the band (including their Starlite concert in Marbella) died from a severe infection after being admitted to a Marbella hospital.
A long-time resident of the area, Parfitt had in fact accompanied Villa Marbella Now on a property inspection just three months before his death, seeking a new home for him and his wife Lindsay, who is a co-partner in another Costa del Sol real estate agency. (It might be a robustly competitive industry on the Costa del Sol but reputable, well-established local agencies such as Villa Marbella Now do often work together on behalf of clients!)
Villa Marbella Show showed Rick and Lindsay one of the agency’s prime properties in Sierra Blanca. In a municipality (Marbella) internationally renowned for its ultra-luxurious residential estates, Sierra Blanca is one of the most exclusive and coveted. Popularly known as the Beverly Hills of Spain, it is located in the north-western heights of the town, overlooking the famous Golden Mile that leads to Puerto Banús – a serene and secure urbanisation featuring verdant forest and parkland areas, meticulously maintained avenues and a picturesque mountain backdrop.
The property is a sprawling villa in Balcones de Sierra Blanca, with all the rock star trimmings – and privacy – for a sublimely luxury lifestyle (and priced at an excellent €2,350,000) - Also available for long term rent for € 9.500 a month.
Built with an exquisite eye for design and meticulous attention to detail, the five-bedroom detached villa extends over more than 700 square metres of built area on a 900 square metre plot, just a short drive to the beach and Marbella’s other dazzling attractions and leisure amenities.
The home features a stunning Andalucian style with superb contemporary touches. The entrance hall leads to a spacious living room that is connected to the dining room and is next to a cosy kitchen with a breakfast corner and exit direct out to the garden. An en-suite guest bedroom completes this level.
The first floor comprises a library corner and three bedrooms, including the master bedroom suite. The 60 square metre attic area is currently being used as a home office and TV/games room but could easily be converted into another bedroom (it is prepared for the installation of a bath).
As to be expected in a property of this calibre, the finest quality materials and fittings have been used throughout, including air-conditioning in all rooms (hot and cold), under-floor heating, ‘‘iroko’‘ teak windows with ‘‘climalit’‘ double-glazing, marble floors on the entire lower level, and wooden floors on the upper level of the house. Other highlights include a 5,000-litre water deposit, mature gardens with a saltwater swimming pool, a huge basement for garaging and storage, and a full staff bedroom suite.
