Marbella's First New Master Plan in 40 Years approved

Good news ! - Today Marbella's First New Master Plan in 40 Years Just Got the Green Light - After four decades under its old planning framework, Ángeles Muñoz, the mayor of Marbella announced that Marbella has approved a brand-new Plan General de Ordenación Municipal (PGOM) — expanding classified urban land from roughly 40 million to 53 million square metres and opening the door to up to 6,500 new homes in areas like El Alicate, La Víbora and La Vizcaína. It also brings long-awaited legal clarity to roughly 18,000 existing homes that had been caught in planning limbo, plus new infrastructure commitments (roads, cycling routes, parking, and potential rail links).

This is great news, and will lead to further growth and consolidation of Marbella as a permanent residence (as opposed to a second residence).
