From Madrid Catwalk to Banús Boutique

[caption id="attachment_2003" align="alignright" width="199"] Juan Vidal[/caption] Considered one of Europe’s premier showcases of latest styles and forthcoming trends, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week celebrated its 60th anniversary this September. Held at the Madrid fairground, the catwalk extravaganza featured several novelties, including the involvement of designers Alvarno, Ulises Mérida and Leyre Valiente (from Samsung Ego), the participation of Desigual and the return of Maya Hansen and Rabaneda. In addition to creators and brands showing their new collections on the catwalk, 20 emerging talents exhibited their work in the Samsung Ego showroom, in Cibelespacio, selling directly to the public. Desigual, one of Spain’s most internationally recognised brands, opened the week with an unveiling of their spring-summer 2015 collection for women – “full of colour and optimism”. [caption id="attachment_1983" align="alignright" width="199"] Dolores Cortés[/caption] Another main highlight of the week was the presentation of the annual awards sponsored by L’Oréal Paris. Designer Juan Vidal was honoured as the acclaimed designer with the best collection, for the second consecutive year, and Blanca Padilla was named the top model of this year’s catwalk. In addition, designer Pepa Salazar won the second edition of the Samsung Ego innovation Project prize, for her Hyperdry collection, comprising eight different looks “which combine materials and technology within the same dimension, setting a scene of changing colours”. And, of course, as always this autumn in Europe they will be offering an ultra-select glimpse of the trend-setting styles on show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. So where better to set up home – for those who haven’t already done so – than a stylish and sophisticated villa in Puerto Banús, like this magnificent beachfront property, which is ideal for hosting either an intimate dinner party or a more formal reception, welcoming guests in appropriately elegant fashion after a day of shopping in the Port, just a five-minute walk away. [caption id="attachment_2015" align="alignright" width="300"] Beachfront luxury in Marbella[/caption] Available for sale and rental, the home’s main features include a dining room with up to 20 guests and a drawing room with a baby grand piano and wide screen home cinema system. The property accommodates up to 10 guests, with additional accommodation in two small guesthouses for friends staying after dinner. Re-built 15 years ago with no expense spared and transformed into one of southern Spain’s prime properties, the villa was originally owned by renowned Spanish dancer, Hollywood actor and lifelong friend of Pablo Picasso, "Antonio El Bailarín".
