Puerto Banús is backdrop for Marbella Luxury Weekend
June brought the Marbella Luxury Weekend to the
Costa del Sol, and more specifically
Puerto Banús. The glamorous marina formed an ideal setting for the concentration of luxury brands in what was a festive atmosphere in the sun. Surrounded by super yachts, top boutique outlets, fine restaurants and glamorous lounge bars and night spots that are a permanent part of life in this chic Mediterranean yacht harbour, there were also trendy cocktail bars and lounges, outdoor boutiques and nail bars that made the most of the sunny but refreshing early summer weather.
In such a location water sports are too tempting to resist, so there were yacht charters, motorboat excursions and invitations to try your hand at any of a broad menu of sea-based experiences. Golf could of course not be missing either, and the organisers have come up with an ingenious way of incorporating it into a marina by enticing players to try for a hole in one – where the hole is located on a tiny island in the water. Such a challenging water feature proved popular among those keen to show off their skills, and have a chance of winning of a stunning classic Studebaker.
Speaking of cars, the marina already famous for its array of
Porsches, Ferraris and Range Rovers was now joined by a mouth-watering fleet of Lamborghinis, Fiskers, Paganis, specially modified Hummers and the immaculate new Mercedes SLR. Together they kept onlookers’ eyes popping and those lucky enough to drive them with a big smile on their faces.
Designed as a kind of opulent ‘luxury open-air fair’, the Marbella Luxury Week appealed to
Marbella’s many prosperous fulltime and part-time residents, whilst giving the impressive concentration of top marques and brands in Marbella the chance to lay on a party for their clients.
The champagne flowed, the sun shone brightly and as the weekend wore on the number of visitors socialising and enjoying themselves in the VIP lounges grew, signalling another successful
Marbella Luxury Weekend.
