Brangelina looking for a house in Marbella!
Marbella has had an affinity with the jet set crowd since it rose to international fame in the early 1960s. Often touted as a playground for famous faces and well-heeled types, this town is always inundated with stars taking their holidays here in the summer. In the past we have had the likes of supermodels Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, and even the wife of the United States President, Michelle Obama, was seen strolling around the Old Town three years ago. Most recently though the
Costa del Sol town seems to have been attracting a number of A-list Hollywood actors, who have been looking for holiday homes to escape the bright lights and bustle of tinsel town.
Like many others they are drawn by the year round sunny climate, the enticing culture and the laid back attitude of the Spaniards. Following in the footsteps of former
Marbella resident and fellow Hollywood actor Sean Connery, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were seen house hunting in the area recently. Hollywood’s most famous couple were spotted in Casares trying to look inconspicuous, and they might have got away unnoticed by locals, had it not been for the large team of security guards that followed them around everywhere. The power couple visited a nearby art gallery and were reported to be staying in the 5-star
Finca Cortesin in
Casares (between
Marbella and
Sotogrande), while mansion hunting for a holiday home in
Marbella.
No doubt this venture had something to do with acting chum and Hollywood heart throb George Clooney, who bought a €4 million mansion in the glitzy Andalusian town in March this year. Although the exact location of Clooney’s property is unknown, the 400-square metre villa is nestled in the mountains and boasts four bedrooms, five bathrooms and a billiard room, with views over
Marbella. They are not the only international actors to live here though, as fellow star Antonio Banderas has owned a holiday home in
Marbella for years.
Can you imagine walking down the street and bumping into Banderas, Clooney or Brangelina? In
Marbella right now it could actually happen.
