The description is from a website promoting Beverly Hills, but it could just have easily been describing Marbella.
And we could very well have added such other comparable attractions as a moderate Mediterranean climate, a cosmopolitan ambience, exquisite restaurants, exclusive boutiques, a vibrant nightlife, a bevy of beautiful people sunning themselves and quaffing champagne at chic beach clubs – and stunning mansion homes.
The superbly designed, recently refurbished modern villa featured
here extends over 903 square metres of built area, with 219 square metres of terraces, on a 1,300 square metre plot. The property comprises six spacious en-suite bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a 100 square metre lounge, a kitchen with terrace access, and a lift.

Meanwhile, as the end of the year beckons and plans are being finalised for New Year’s Eve celebrations, the first item on many people’s shopping list will be Champagne – or an excellent Spanish cava. To add an appropriate touch of bubbly grandeur to this mansion in Sierra Blanca, we popped into the Armand de Brignac bodega, owned by music producer, rapper and entrepreneur Jay Z (aka Shawn Carter and the husband of Beyonce).
Established in 1763 in Chigny-les-Roses, and featuring a distinctive pewter Ace of Spades insignia on its bottles, the company is known for innovation and taking champagne to new levels of luxury – and expense! This year, for example, it released a 30-litre Rosé “Midas” – the largest bottle of Rosé Champagne ever produced, anywhere in the world. It is equivalent to 40 regular-sized 750-millilitre bottles, weighs 45 kilograms and is over 1.2 metres high.
